Keto-Green- A Great Way to Lose Weight and Balance your Hormones

What do you know about Keto? Thanks to a great podcast where Hormone Expert Nicki Williams interviewed Triple certified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr.Anna Cabeca - I now know quite a bit and it’s fascinating. Why? Because I’ve been struggling to shift a few pounds that have been hanging around my waistline despite a very active lifestyle and until the menopause, a completely flat tummy. I now know it’s not me, it’s my hormones! So after hearing about the benefits of a Keto-Green diet which balances the hormones and burns fat through ketogenic eating I decided to give it a go. The basic premise of this diet is very low carb, good fats and protein which changes the metabolism to create ketosis - where the body turns to utilising its fat stores for energy. The ‘green’ aspect brings your body into alkalinity which helps reduce hormone related issues as well as inflammation. It’s also brilliant for getting essential nutrients as there are lots of leafy green vegetables in this so you don’t miss out. Combined with intermittent fasting I’m feeling better; lighter, more energetic and I’ve lost 8lbs in weight. There are lots of decliouse recipes in the book Keto-Green 16 - the one above is Beef and Cruciferous Tacos with Avocado Lime Crema. For veggies and vegans there are lots of options and being a flexitarian I switch out meat for all kinds of delicious beans as an alternative.

How was it overall to do ? Well it isn’t easy, you’ve got to commit and stick with it, but it’s only 16 days of commitment. The fact that there was an end point helped and even though I’m there now, I want to carry on because I feel so good.

Overall I’d recommend giving this a go if you’re looking to reset your eating habits, reset your body due to hormonal changes or just reset because you’re in need of a detox and a boost to your wellbeing. Men can do it too, my husband lost a whopping 12lbs and is delighted 😀 🕺🏻

So with both me and hubby happy with the results, we’re going to go Keto-Green for our working week and be relaxed about it on the weekend, totally doable and a great way to keep the balance of a healthy, happy lifestyle.
